(PHOTOS) - Why Is Joan Rivers Running Around With Cake All Over Her Face?

Joan Rivers was seen fleeing a pre-Oscars bash with a face covered in cake last night - prompting speculation that maybe one of the celebs she's slated on Fashion Police decided to exact some revenge.

Alas, no... the culprit was the one and only Miss Piggy.

At the QVC extravaganza, the pair were seen 'fighting', with Rivers swiping: "What are you selling, half-baked hams?"

Piggy fired back: "Oh, a pork joke, how original, Joan! Here let me try—Plastic surgery, plastic surgery, plastic surgery! Old!"

A scuffle ensued, resulting in the Muppets regular forcing Rivers into a multi-tiered cake.

Rivers then rushed out of the party, yelling "get me to my car!" so convincingly that a few outlets believed her to be the victim of a genuine cake attack.

The comic and fashion critic cleaned herself up and returned to the party soon after.

It's not the first time she's taken a cake to the face - as Fergie smeared one in her face last June, which she found hysterical.

Miss Piggy, meanwhile, is due to launch her new range Moi in time for the release of new movie The Muppets: Most Wanted.
