The Walking Dead Boss Promises Chaos and Terror When the Show Returns Like We Expected Anything Less
Rick and the gang are smack-dab in a horde of walkers with a plan that's about to go horribly awry. Glenn's still watching in helpless horror from outside Alexandria's walls. And Negan and his gang is on their way.
When The Walking Dead returns for its mid-season premiere in February, there's a lot at stake. And that's what makes the message executive producer Scott Gimple just delivered to host Chris Hardwick on Talking Dead all the more worrisome, if not entirely obvious.
"The good people of Talking Dead asked for a sneak peek, but looking it over, we realized anything peek-able was far too sneaky and, thus, we present to you the most cinematic of sneak peeks: A census-shattering note," Gimple's message begins.
"We will be wooing you with the weirdest of Valentine's Day gifts: Chaos, terror, heartbreak, heroics, tragedy, and terror. Yes, that's two terrors," the tongue-in-cheek note continues. "Friends, in all seriousness, episode nine is one of the biggest episode we have done. Greg [Nicotero] and the astounding cast and crew made magic. We can not wait to show it to you February 14. Make sure your television boxes are in good operation conditions and install safety belts on your couches. This one is gargantuan. Some people give candy, flowers, and/ or hilariously-themed teddy bears. This Valentine's Day, we are giving you The Walking Dead mid-season premiere."
Fellow executive producer Robert Kirkman, who was a guest of the show, quickly chimed in with a tease of his own once Hardwick was finished reading: "So many people die. So many."
So, there you have it, folks. AMC is out to ruin your Valentine's Day 2016 with what sounds like will be one of the more devastating episodes of The Walking Dead ever. And if that isn't love, we don't know what is.
