'Speed Was A Factor' In Paul Walker's Death, Police Confirm
The 40-year-old actor and model died on Saturday afternoon in a Los Angeles car crash after a Porsche driven by his friend Roger Rodas hit a lamppost and burst into flames.
Mr Rodas, who was Walker's financial advisor as well as owning a custom car shop with the actor, also died in the crash.
The crash is still being investigated but yesterday the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a statement: "Speed was a factor in the solo vehicle collision." It added that it did not know at this stage how fast the car was going before the collision, but the accident was under investigation.
Paul, 40, and Roger, 38, were driving back from an event for their shared charity Reach Out Worldwide when the harrowing accident took place. An attendee at the affair named Bill Townsend took a photograph with Paul and he said the star was "so happy" just hours before the accident.

Paul's Fast and Furious co-stars led tributes in the hours after the news broke with Vin Diesel posting a photo of himself and the late actor on Instagram, expressing his sadness. "Brother I will miss you very much," the 46-year-old actor wrote, adding: "I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace."
Tyrese Gibson, who also starred in many of the Fast and Furious films, wrote a touching message on his Facebook page to his former co-star, admitting that he was struggling to come to terms with the news. "My heart is hurting so bad," he wrote.
"No one can make me believe this is real. Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don't understand. My heart hurts it's broken no one can convince me that this is real…. Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family… #HeartOfAnAngel13YrsFamilyForever."
