Taylor Swift Is Queen Of The Grammy Awards In Silver Chain Link Gown

This year's Grammys red carpet was a bit of a let down with no Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus or Rihanna to pull a showstopper or OMG moment, but what we did get was an array of shimmering, beautiful gowns.

Taylor Swift was the stand out of the night, waltzing onto the red carpet in a stunning Gucci gown. The glittering column dress was studded with thousands of crystals, leading to Taylor to declare backstage: "I think it's bulletproof."

Another star to chose a bit of sparkle was the very pregnant and very gorgeous Ciara who collaborated with Emilio Pucci designer Peter Dundas to create her own sequined stunner.

Rita Ora meanwhile went sparkly but short in her metallic Lanvin cocktail dress with the unusual green colour standing out among the gold and whites on the red carpet. And with her man Calvin Harris as arm candy, Rita accessorised to perfection.

Robin Thicke's stunning wife Paula Patton went against the trend for glitz and chose a garish safari themed get-up. The actress' zebra print dress was from up and coming designer Nicholas Jebran, which she teamed with a punky hair do and a pair of stunning drop earrings.

While Taylor, Rita and Ciara went for elegant sparkle, Madonna chose to stand out in her own way in yet another fashion fail. The 55-year-old rocked up in a tux and matching hat, and while the Ralph Lauren suit on it's own might have proved a winner an abundance of accessories overloaded the look.

Madge's look can't be criticised too much though as apparently it was chosen by her adorable eight-year-old son David, who joined his mum in his own dapper suit.

Madonna made reference to her often criticised style choices by joking to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet: "Yeah, I'm grilling," when asked about her gold teeth. "It pi**es everyone off when I wear my grill, so that's why I wear it — when it matches my outfit".

And it looks like David wants to copy his superstar mum, telling Ryan: "She said she'd get me grills this birthday."
