Hundreds of Shiites Protest in Kano, Call for El-Zakzaky’s Release
Hundreds of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, popularly known as Shiites, on Monday protested against the arrest of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
The Shiite Muslims trooped out to the streets of Kano after converging at Fagge mosque and protested through Ibrahim Taiyo road, Radio Kano by Obasanjo bridge and IBB way.
The Shiites comprised men, young children and women holding different placards with various inscription calling for the immediate release of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky.
Leader of the protesting Shiite in Kano, Mallam Sani Malfa addressed the crowds at Kofar Mata after three hours of protesting.
Mallam Sani said: "We demand immediate release of Shiek Zakzaky. And we want him to be released for him to be treated by doctors of his choice over the injuries he sustained".
